Former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has explained the circumstances behind his departure from both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Amaechi, now a leading presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the remarks during an interview on Channels TV on Friday.
He alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan, pushed him out of the PDP after taking control of the party structure in Rivers State.
Amaechi also said he experienced a similar situation in the APC following his participation in the party’s presidential primary, where he contested against the current president, Bola Tinubu.
“I was chased out of PDP, APC by the then president,” he said.
“The president and his wife took over the party structure in Rivers State and forced me out. The same thing happened in APC.”
