Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has revealed that he received a divine message affirming that God’s “mighty hands” are upon President Bola Tinubu.
He made the statement while commissioning the Eke Obinagu–Emene flyover, a project designed to ease traffic congestion ahead of the Easter celebrations.
Umahi also dismissed claims of marginalization in the Southeast, stressing that the region now plays a significant role in the current administration.
According to him, the zone occupies strategic positions, including his office as Minister of Works and the appointment of two service chiefs.
“God has spoken to me that His mighty hands are upon President Bola Tinubu. Our people must be strategic.
“The marginalization we’re talking about is over. For the first time, we’re in the helm of affairs,” he said.
While acknowledging the Southeast’s long-term ambition to produce a president, Umahi urged continued support for the current government.
He added that governors in the region are backing Tinubu’s leadership.
The minister further called on political leaders in the Southeast to openly mobilize support for the president.
“I want to plead with Southeast leaders to be bold in convincing our people on the need to vote for Mr President. If you’re a leader in the Southeast and you’re not vocal in the declaration, then you’re not for us,” he said.
Umahi emphasized that governance should prioritize development, infrastructure, fairness, equity, and justice, urging the region to recognize ongoing federal efforts while expecting more benefits.
