The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has refuted reports claiming that its Interim National Chairman, David Mark, has resigned.
In a statement released by the party’s National Chairman’s Media Office, the claims were described as false and deliberately misleading.
The statement labelled the reports as “an insidious fabrication” orchestrated by “puerile, weak and inconsiderate propagandists”.
It clarified that Mark remains firmly in his position, with no discussions or plans of his resignation.
“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement said.
The party added that its leadership remains united and focused on strengthening democratic values while providing credible leadership to Nigerians.
It also warned against efforts to destabilise the party, linking such actions to concerns over ADC’s growing influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.
The party urged the public to disregard the rumours and remain confident in its stable leadership structure.
