Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, known globally as Davido, has publicly rejected renewed claims that he is the father of a teenage girl who appealed to him for a DNA test. The singer took to social media to dismiss the allegation, insisting multiple DNA tests have already proven he is not related to the child.
The controversy reignited on January 15, 2026, after 12‑year‑old Mitchelle Anuoluwapo Adeleke shared an emotional message on Instagram asking Davido to undergo a DNA test so she could “establish her identity” and find closure amid years of bullying and emotional distress.
In his response on X (formerly Twitter), the Grammy‑nominated artist delivered a blunt denial, writing that he had already taken five separate DNA tests, all of which returned negative results, proving he is not her biological father. According to Davido, three of those tests were conducted at facilities he chose, while two were selected by the other side and all came back negative.
“After 5 DNA test … she dey crase … her and her mom better leave me the f**k alone and go find her papa,” Davido wrote in one of his posts, using explicit language to express his frustration. He also denied ever having a relationship with the girl’s mother outside of the DNA testing process.
In follow‑up posts, Davido further stated that the matter was conclusively resolved and that he would not address it publicly again. He said the dispute should stop and even suggested legal consequences for the continued claims, adding, “This is the last time I’m speaking on this nonsense.”
The public exchange has intensified debate online, drawing reactions from fans and commentators on both sides of the disagreement. While Davido maintains the DNA tests conclusively show he is not the teenager’s father, the opposing camp continues to challenge that account and seeks independent verification.
