Atiku Welcomes Supreme Court Ruling on ADC Leadership, Urges Continued Political Vigilance

Soliu Oyesiji, April 30, 2026April 30, 2026

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has welcomed the Supreme Court’s affirmation of the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the judgment as a significant moment for the party and its supporters across the country.

In a message posted on his official X account, Atiku acknowledged the court’s recognition of David Mark as a key figure in the party’s leadership structure.

He, however, warned against complacency, noting that the broader political struggle remains unresolved.

“The road ahead remains long in our cause to take back and rescue our country,” he said, framing the ruling as a morale boost rather than a final victory.

Atiku dedicated the outcome to Nigerians who, according to him, have remained steadfast in demanding a better future.

He commended what he described as “courageous millions who refuse to surrender their future,” urging them to remain committed.

He stressed the need for sustained civic engagement, invoking the principle that “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty,” and signalling continued political mobilisation beyond the courtroom victory.
