David Egbede, April 29, 2026

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has brought together young political actors, party stakeholders, and aspirants in Abuja for its National Youth Champions Seminar 2026, as part of efforts to boost youth and women participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The seminar, held at the party’s national secretariat, attracted members of the National Executive Committee, youth leaders, and coalition partners. Organizers described the gathering as a strategic platform to prepare a new generation of leaders for elective positions.

According to party officials, the initiative is designed to equip participants with essential political skills, including campaign strategy, voter mobilization, and election management.

Speaking at the event, the party’s youth leader, Balarabe Rufa’i, stressed the need for greater youth inclusion in governance.

He said, “The importance of youth inclusion in political leadership cannot be overstated, and the party’s constitution has made provisions to ensure greater representation of young people in decision-making structures.”

He added that reserved seats for youths within the party reflect its commitment to nurturing emerging leaders and expanding political opportunities.

The event also featured the presence of the party’s founder, Ralph Okey Nwosu, alongside other stakeholders who encouraged young Nigerians to actively engage in the democratic process.

Also in attendance was presidential aspirant Emeka Nwajiuba, as well as several governorship and House of Assembly hopefuls, highlighting growing interest in the party ahead of the next election cycle.

Organizers described the seminar as a critical step toward building political capacity among young Nigerians and strengthening internal party structures before the 2027 polls. Participants expressed optimism that such initiatives would boost political awareness, promote inclusivity, and encourage more youths and women to seek leadership positions nationwide.

The National Youth Champions Seminar 2026 will feature training sessions, discussions, and strategy engagements focused on leadership development, electoral participation, and party unity.
