Zulum dissolves Borno Executive Council

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the immediate dissolution of the Borno State Executive Council, a move aimed at allowing cabinet members who intend to contest in the upcoming general elections to do so.

In a statement released on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, the decision was said to be part of efforts to foster an enabling environment for political participation.

The governor also directed all commissioners to hand over the responsibilities of their ministries to Permanent Secretaries on or before Friday, April 3, 2026.

Zulum further expressed sincere appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication, commitment, and notable contributions to the development and service of the people of Borno State.
