FCT Bus/Taxi Terminals to Begin Operations Soon – Wike

David Egbede, March 27, 2026March 27, 2026

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says the completed FCT Bus and Taxi Terminals will begin operations soon following approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Wike disclosed this in Abuja on Friday, after he inspected some ongoing projects in the territory, including the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, to provide access to the terminal.

He expressed joy that President Bola Tinubu and FEC had approved the management of the two bus terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo, based on a Public-Private Partnership arrangement.

He explained that the bus terminals, though completed and inaugurated in 2025, they could not begin operations because their management was above ministerial approval.

“We had to go to the FEC and now the management had been approved.

“The management team was with me today and they are putting processes in place to see that they commence operation soon.

“I am happy that, although we have waited for this long, the waiting will be over in the next one or three weeks,” he said.

Speaking on the inspected projects, the minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the Mabushi bus terminal road.

He disclosed that the road would be inaugurated to mark Tinubu’s third anniversary.

Wike also commended the quality delivery of the Arterial Road N1, from Wuye District to Ring Road II, and expressed optimism that it would be completed and handed over before the end of the year.

He said that residents of the FCT deserve the best and that Tinubu is doing everything possible to give it to them.
