After Historic UK Visit and Lagos Eid, Tinubu Returns to Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja to resume official duties after marking Eid-el-Fitr in Lagos and concluding his historic state visit to the United Kingdom.

According to a statement by media aide Bayo Onanuga, the President departed Lagos on Wednesday evening at 6:44 pm from the Presidential Wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

President Tinubu had returned from the UK in the early hours of Friday and participated in Eid-el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos. His Lagos schedule also included engagements with top political and business leaders.

During his visit, the President hosted 23 state governors, including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji. He also received Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, a delegation from the European Union, and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.

Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Lagos to brief the President on his trip to Borno State, following the recent suicide bombing.

At the departure ceremony, several dignitaries and government officials were present, including Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun, former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, senior officials, and party stalwarts.

The President’s return marks the conclusion of his international engagements and holiday activities, setting the stage for the continuation of official work at the Presidential Villa.
