Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has described ex-Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as a remarkable man but said he is not suited to become Nigeria’s president.
Speaking on Channels Television on Thursday, Melaye argued that Obi lacks the capacity to unite the country.
Obi has repeatedly confirmed his intention to run for the presidency in the 2027 elections.
“But let me even tell you, Peter Obi is a fantastic Nigerian. I have tremendous respect for him, and I’ve said it before, he is a fantastic person, but this is not his time to be President,” Melaye said.
Recall that Dino Melaye after leaving the National Assembly, contested Kogi State gubernatorial election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but lost to the incumbent governor, Ahmed Ododo.
