Arewa Youths Demand Tinubu Sack Defence Minister Musa

David Egbede, March 11, 2026March 11, 2026

The Northern pressure group, Arewa Youths, has urged President Bola Tinubu to dismiss the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, citing the rising insecurity in the region.

Abdul Danbature, president of the group, made the appeal during an interview aired on News Century TV on Wednesday.

Danbature accused the minister of behaving more like a social media influencer than a military leader, claiming that more soldiers have lost their lives under his tenure than under any previous Defence Minister.

He noted that if the president does not sack the defense minister, he will destroy his leadership as the president.

Danbature said, “General Christopher Musa is someone that we celebrated so much when he was appointed as the Minister of Defense, but as it is today, we say no to Christopher Musa.

“We are calling for Christopher Musa’s resignation. He needs to vacate that seat and allow someone who is competent to come and lead the Ministry of Defense.

“For the past week, over 100 military personnel were allegedly killed at the hands of terrorists, and over 250 people are being kidnapped.

“Mr President, if you do not take any action, Christopher Musa will destroy your leadership as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you do not sack Christopher Musa, he will go down as the worst minister of defense in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
