Man, 20, docked for allegedly entering uncompleted building with intent to steal

A 20-year-old man, Mustapha Khalid, was on Monday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly entering an uncompleted building with the intent to steal.

Khalid, whose address was not provided, was charged with unlawful entrance, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp Omolade Adetule, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan.8, at about 11.30 a.m., at Jericho area of Ibadan.

Adetule alleged that the defendant entered into an uncompleted building belonging to one Elemi Adio, with the intent to steal.

She said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 508 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until March 10, for hearing.
