Ahmadu Fintiri, the Governor of Adamawa State, has clarified the circumstances surrounding his political split from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Fintiri stated that their parting was solely the result of differing party affiliations.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, on Tuesday, the governor stressed that although they now belong to separate political platforms, he still maintains a cordial relationship with Atiku.
He said that individuals truly dedicated to Nigeria’s advancement should see themselves as collaborators in the task of nation-building, adding that his political position favors backing a southern presidential candidate. He dismissed suggestions of any breakdown in communication, noting that political disagreements have not affected their personal rapport.
“There is no strained communication with the former VP as a result of political differences.
“There is nothing that has gone bad. It is just that everybody has taken their political ways. I am today in APC, they are in another party,” he said.
