David Egbede, March 2, 2026

Adegbodu Twins have lost one of their own, as Taiwo Adegbodu has sadly passed away. The news of his death was shared in the early hours of Sunday, though the cause has not yet been disclosed.

Taiwo, who formed the celebrated duo with his twin brother Kehinde, was admired not only for their inspiring music but also for the strong bond and unity they embodied.

Born in Oyo, the brothers devoted their lives to gospel ministry through music, becoming influential figures in the Yoruba gospel community. Their rise to fame began in 1999 with the release of their debut album, Faratimi (Lean on Me), which was widely embraced and positioned them as significant voices in contemporary Christian music.

Over the years, the Adegbodu Twins earned a lasting reputation for their spiritually enriching and culturally rooted sound. Their music resonated deeply with audiences across Nigeria, serving as a source of worship and encouragement in many homes.

Among their well-loved songs are Shower Your Blessing, Hallelujah, God Concert, Bojuwomi, Emi Mimo, Igbagbo Dun, Ma Beru, and Adura Mi Gba.
