Former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Aliyu Modibbo, has stated that Northern Nigeria is not marginalized, contrary to recent claims.
Modibbo made the remarks on Friday during an interview with Trust TV, responding to questions about the region’s socio-economic and political conditions. “What people have been peddling is that the North is marginalized. How? When the ministers were appointed, each state gave its own nominee.
“There is no state that is represented twice by another state. Then the president have the prerogative right to to add if he wants to.
“But the North got its right going by what the constitution says that every state must have a minister in the Federal Executive Council, FEC.
“Coming back to allocation, is there any state in the North that has been denied its allocation? Or is there any distribution or intervention done by the president that dies not go to any Northern governor,” he asked.
