Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form to contest the Kogi Central senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
Bello reportedly received the form on Saturday and has emerged as the party’s consensus candidate for the position, setting the stage for a high-profile contest in the district.
He is expected to face the incumbent senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The development signals a return to elective politics for Bello, who served two terms as governor of Kogi State before handing over to his successor, Usman Ododo.
Party sources indicated that the decision to adopt Bello as the consensus candidate followed consultations among key stakeholders, although details of the process were not immediately disclosed.
