Suspected members of Boko Haram have reportedly launched an attack on Dapchi, the headquarters of Bursari Local Government Area in Yobe State.
According to local accounts, the attackers stormed the town around 11 p.m., targeting critical infrastructure.
A resident, who spoke anonymously from a nearby location, said the assailants set fire to three telecommunication masts, a police station, a hospital ambulance, and a primary healthcare centre.
They also reportedly seized motorcycles and forcefully took mobile phones from residents.
The source added that the attackers operated in the area for about three hours without resistance, leaving the community cut off from communication services.
Residents now have to travel to neighbouring areas to access network coverage.
As of the time of reporting, security agencies have not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
This marks the second reported attack on Dapchi in under a month, following a similar attack on April 4, 2026.
