Borno South APC Stakeholders Back Ndume, Raise ₦40m for 2027 Nomination

Soliu Oyesiji, April 26, 2026

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the nine local government areas of Borno South have endorsed Senator Ali Ndume for re-election and raised over ₦40 million to purchase his senatorial nomination form ahead of the 2027 polls.

The decision was conveyed during a visit by party leaders, led by veteran stakeholder Adamu Yamta, to the Borno State APC Chairman, Bello Ayuba, at his residence in Maiduguri on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, Yamta said the endorsement reflected a collective decision by party stakeholders across Borno South, citing Ndume’s track record and representation.

He also commended Governor Babagana Zulum for what he described as inclusive and people-oriented leadership in the state.

Responding, Ayuba expressed surprise at the large turnout and diversity of stakeholders present at the meeting.

“I thought this meeting was for just three or five people. I am truly surprised by this massive turnout and even more impressed by the quality of stakeholders drawn from all the local government areas of Borno South.

“Even members of the state party executive are here. Indeed, Senator Ndume belongs to all of us,” he added.

The APC chairman also praised Zulum’s leadership style, noting that it accommodates all segments of the state, regardless of size or political influence.

Other speakers at the meeting, including Abdullahi Danjato and Musa Dogo, described the endorsement as unanimous, stressing that Ndume has demonstrated effective representation over the years.

They said the purpose of the visit was to formally inform the party leadership of their decision and seek its support.

The meeting was attended by key party figures, including the Borno South APC Zonal Leader, the state assistant secretary, all nine local government party chairmen from the zone, youth leaders, and members of the business community.
