The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its aerial offensive against insurgents, destroying terrorist enclaves in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State.
In a statement issued by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was carried out under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai on April 24, 2026, targeting Ali Sheriffti, a known terrorist stronghold.
The NAF explained that the mission followed credible intelligence on insurgent movements, which led to surveillance that tracked militants along concealed routes to structures hidden under dense vegetation.
After confirming the targets, air assets launched a precision strike on the location, destroying the structures and weakening the terrorists’ operational capacity.
According to the statement, the strike “achieved the desired effect,” significantly degrading terrorist capabilities and limiting their movement within the area.
The force noted that the operation highlights its commitment to intelligence-driven and precision-based missions aimed at eliminating terrorist safe havens.
Meanwhile, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the Air Force’s resolve to sustain pressure on terrorist groups, stating that operations will continue with increased intensity to protect lives and secure the nation.
