ACCI Unveils Agro Meqa Expo 2026 to Boost Mechanized Farming and Agro-Exports

Editor, April 21, 2026

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has announced plans to host the Agro Meqa Expo 2026, an initiative aimed at advancing agricultural innovation, mechanization, and export quality across Africa.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, on Tuesda, the Second Deputy President of ACCI, Aliyu Idi Hong, said the expo Agricultural Mechanization and Export Quality Products in Africa (Agro Meqa)—will serve as a platform to transform the continent’s agricultural sector.

He explained that the event, themed “Technology and Investment for Agro-Export,” will bring together key stakeholders across the agricultural value chain, including farmers, investors, policymakers, equipment manufacturers, financial institutions, and development partners.

Hong noted that a major focus of the expo will be improving mechanized farming systems in Nigeria and beyond. According to him, increased mechanization and better land management could help reduce the long-standing farmers–herders crisis by easing competition over land and grazing routes, while promoting sustainable agricultural development.

The Agro Meqa Expo 2026 is scheduled to hold from June 10 to 11, 2026.
