The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a total of 632,788 candidates who sat for the exam on April 16 now able to check their scores.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, candidates were directed to send “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration to access their results.
He noted that, for now, candidates can only view their scores, as result slip printing will be enabled later.
“The results of candidates who sat the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16 April 2026, have been released and are now available for viewing,” the statement read.
The examination, which began on April 16, is expected to run until April 22 across centres nationwide, with more results to be released in batches.
JAMB also issued a stern warning against the manipulation or falsification of results, stressing that altering official score messages is a criminal offence.
The Board revealed that two candidates and one parent have already been arrested for allegedly using artificial intelligence and other electronic means to falsify results.
According to the Board, anyone found guilty of examination malpractice will face prosecution.
