The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement signed by its Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, the board said candidates who participated in the April 16 examination can now check their results via SMS.
According to JAMB, candidates are required to send “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
“At this stage, candidates may only view their results, as printing is not yet available,” the board stated.
JAMB also issued a stern warning against the falsification or manipulation of results, describing such acts as criminal.
“Candidates are strongly cautioned against altering or fabricating scores from the SMS received from our official platforms. Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence,” the statement said.
The board disclosed that two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for allegedly attempting to falsify UTME results using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.
“Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law,” it added.
JAMB noted that the nationwide examination is still ongoing and assured that more results would be released in batches as marking and verification processes are completed.
