The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has fixed May 12, 2026, as the official date for newly elected party executives across the country to assume office following their formal inauguration.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC clarified that the tenure of current executives remains in effect until the scheduled swearing-in ceremony.
The party said the clarification became necessary to avoid confusion within its ranks, particularly at the state level where fresh officials have emerged from recent internal elections.
It further directed newly elected executives not to take any official action or present themselves as office holders before the inauguration date.
Reaffirming its commitment to internal order and discipline, the ADC emphasized that all leadership transitions within the party must strictly follow constitutional provisions and due process.
