Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has urged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to rally around a credible and electable candidate ahead of future elections, stressing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not relinquish power voluntarily.
Amaechi made the remarks during the party’s national convention held in Abuja, where he criticized the current administration over rising insecurity across the country, including killings, kidnappings, and displacement of citizens.
He called on ADC leaders to close ranks and present a united front capable of challenging the ruling government, questioning what he described as attempts to suppress democratic rights such as freedom of assembly.
Amaechi also accused some government officials of prioritizing personal gain over national interest, insisting that Nigerians deserve accountable leadership.
