A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has announced the suspension of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
The decision was disclosed on Monday by the faction’s state chairman, Raji Sulaiman Zumo.
This development comes amid an ongoing leadership crisis within the party, as another faction led by Nafiu Bala Gombe continues to assert its claim to the national chairmanship position.
The internal dispute also led the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw recognition of the ADC leadership headed by former Senate President David Mark.
