Happiness Udisifan, February 24, 2026February 24, 2026

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has urged Nigerians to come forward with credible information on alleged child sexual abuse and misconduct in daycare centres across the country.

In a notice issued on Tuesday via its official X handle, the agency said it is committed to thoroughly investigating concerns highlighted in recent viral posts and public discussions. NAPTIP emphasized that any credible report will be given full attention to ensure the safety and protection of children.

The agency called on individuals with direct knowledge, evidence, or personal experience of the alleged incidents to contact NAPTIP confidentially. This includes parents, caregivers, or anyone who may have witnessed or been affected by misconduct in daycare settings.

NAPTIP reiterated its dedication to safeguarding children from abuse and ensuring that daycare facilities operate within strict safety and ethical standards. The agency stressed that all reports would be handled with the utmost confidentiality to protect the identities of victims and whistleblowers.

The appeal comes amid growing public concern over child safety in Nigeria, highlighting the urgent need for vigilance, reporting, and stronger oversight in early childhood care environments.
