Fresh controversy has emerged in the ongoing custody battle involving Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido and his daughter, Imade, following the singer’s withdrawal from the court case and public reactions.
Davido had taken to social media, posting, “I’m stepping back from this matter, but I will always love and protect my child,” prompting a formal response from the law firm representing the child’s mother. In a statement, the firm described some of the posts as “harassment” and warned that public commentary could undermine the legal process and affect the welfare of the minor.
According to the firm, the child’s best interests remain the primary concern, and they urged both parties and the public to exercise restraint while the matter is before the court. The lawyers stressed that any attempts to sway public opinion should not interfere with due process or the child’s well-being.
