The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of Saturday’s bye-elections for the Ahoada-East II and Khana II state constituencies in Rivers State, describing the exercise as generally peaceful.
According to a statement issued by Geraldine Ekelemu, Head of Voter Education and Publicity for INEC Rivers State, the elections were conducted across 14 registration areas and 242 polling units in the two constituencies.
In Ahoada-East II, APC candidate Napoleon Nyemodumakpo Ukalikpe secured 3,980 votes to emerge victorious.
Other candidates included Egor Marvelous of AA with 32 votes, Godstime Egor of APM with 38 votes, Oseja Clifford of BP with 11 votes, Ephraim Raphael Ede of NNPP with 7 votes, Ogioe Samson Greatman of YPP, and Saturday Prosper Okwodu of ZLP with 6 votes.
Meanwhile, in Khana II, APC’s Henrietta Loolo Bulabari won the seat with 7,647 votes.
Competing candidates included Meesua Victor Nwankpang of AA with 46 votes, Justice Barasima Yormii of NNPP with 37 votes, Gideon Celestine Taagaloobari of YPP with 23 votes, and Anthony Meneyii Ndor of ZLP with 47 votes.
