Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 20 individuals across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for alleged electoral offences during Saturday’s Area Council elections.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media & Publicity for the EFCC, the suspects face allegations ranging from vote buying and vote selling to obstruction of election officers, involving a total of ₦17,218,700.

One of the suspects was reportedly found with ₦13,500,000 in a vehicle parked beside a polling unit in Kwali Area Council. Arrests were made in multiple councils, including two in Abaji, nine in Gwagwalada, four in Kuje, and four in Kwali.
The EFCC said that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court once inquiries are concluded.
