The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deployed operatives across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to monitor Saturday’s council elections.
According to a statement issued on February 21, the Commission said the deployment is aimed at safeguarding electoral integrity and preventing vote buying and other forms of electoral malpractice.

The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, directed officers to maintain strict surveillance across all council areas to deter voter inducement and ensure compliance with electoral laws.
The Commission stated that its operatives are positioned across the FCT to promote transparency and accountability in the conduct of the polls.
