Popular Nigerian photographer and biker Orowole Kolapoz, popularly known as Kola Onifoto, has passed away following a solo motorcycle accident in Lagos.
The 32-year-old travel enthusiast and brand influencer was said to have been involved in the crash on Sunday while setting out on what he called his first solo motorcycle trip outside Lagos.
Just hours before the accident, he shared a post on Facebook announcing his journey to Akure, where he also praised experienced bikers who have traveled widely across Nigeria and beyond. “Big shout out to those who have ridden their bikes to every state in this country, to Africa, and across the world, especially women. My eye see wheeen,” he wrote.
Following the accident, friends disclosed online that Kolapoz was initially taken to an emergency unit operated by the Federal Road Safety Corps at Ojota.
He was later transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, where supporters continued to express hope and prayers for his recovery.
He eventually succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Monday, March 2.
