The caretaker committee secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Dr. Michael Tidi, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
At a defection ceremony in Warri on Sunday, Tidi stated that his former party no longer had the capacity to win elections in the state.
He expressed relief and satisfaction at reuniting with his former political colleagues within APC, while also noting his happiness to reconnect with friends and leaders from his PDP days.
The two time Chairman of Warri south local government on the banner of the PDP further stated that after a critical assessment of things he came to a conclusion that it was better to remain united with his political friends.
“I am here in the APC to contribute to the beautiful story,” he said.
Chairman of Warri south local government, Mr Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, Chairman of the APC in the local government, Mr Richard Pessu, member representing Warri South Constituency I, in the Delta State House of Assembly, Augustine Uroye and some other leaders in their separate speeches welcomed the new entrants to the APC, describing their choice to join the party as a good move.
Recall that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori who was elected on the platform of the PDP decamped with prominent leaders of the party to the APC.
