Armed bandits have reportedly imposed a curfew on residents of Bilbis town in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State and demanded a levy of N30 million.
The development was disclosed by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the report, Bilbis is the hometown of Ikra Aliyu Bilbis, who represents the Zamfara Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate.
The post reads “ZAMFARA UNDER SIEGE: Armed bandits have imposed a curfew and a ₦30 million levy on residents of Bilbis town in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State.
“The community, a hometown of Senator Ikira Aliyu Bilbis, who currently represents Zamfara Central Senatorial District. Residents are reportedly living in fear after gunmen ordered them indoors and enforced a lockdown until the demanded payment is made.”
