El-Rufai Appears in Court as ICPC Trial Over Alleged Financial Misconduct Continues

David Egbede, April 13, 2026April 13, 2026

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has arrived at the Kaduna State High Court as proceedings continue in his ongoing case with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The court had earlier adjourned the hearing of his bail application to April 14, as legal arguments in the matter progress.

El-Rufai is facing a 10-count charge bordering on alleged financial misappropriation and money laundering.

He was previously detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) before being transferred to the ICPC for further investigation.

He was recently granted temporary release to attend the burial of his mother, who passed away in March. The case is expected to continue as the court reconvenes.
