The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has announced plans to arraign the former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i, in both federal and state courts.
According to a statement released by John Okor Odey, Head of Media and Public Communications at the ICPC, the former governor and one Joel Adoga will face charges at the Federal High Court of Nigeria in the Kaduna Judicial Division on Tuesday, 24th March 2026.
The case, registered as FHC/KD/73/2026, includes allegations of conversion and possession of public property and money laundering.

Similarly, another case, KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26, has been filed against El-Rufa’i and one Amadu Sule (LEDA) at the Kaduna State High Court.
The charges in the state court include abuse of office, fraud, and attempts to confer undue advantage.
“The ICPC wishes to inform the public that Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i has been duly served. We remain committed to adhering fully to due process and the rule of law at all times,” the statement read.
Both cases were officially filed on 18th March 2026. The date for the arraignment in the State High Court will be communicated in due course by the court.
