Former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido has debunked reports suggesting he was invited by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu or any member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to defect from his current party.
Speaking during an interview at his residence while hosting guests for the Eid al-Fitr celebration, Lamido described the claims as baseless speculation, insisting he had no knowledge of any such invitation.
He also dismissed rumours linking him to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), attributing the reports to misinformation circulating on social media.
Despite rejecting the claims, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain noted that he would be open to meeting with President Tinubu if the need arises, emphasizing that such engagement would be in the interest of national unity rather than politics.
Lamido further urged Nigerians to reflect on their voting decisions, stating that the country’s leadership outcomes are a direct result of choices made at the polls.
He also congratulated Muslim faithful on the Eid celebration and called for continued prayers for peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria.
