NRC Deploys Extra Trains on Lagos–Ibadan Corridor to Ease Post-Eid Travel

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the operation of three additional train trips on the Lagos–Ibadan Train Service (LITS) corridor on Monday, March 23, 2026, following a high passenger turnout during the recent Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

The extra trips are aimed at easing passenger movement and providing more travel options for commuters returning to their destinations.

According to the schedule, trains departing from Mobolaji Johnson Station, Ebute Metta (Lagos) will leave at 7:45 a.m., 1:40 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., while departures from Obafemi Awolowo Station, Moniya (Ibadan) are set for 8:00 a.m., 10:50 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.

Callistus Unyimadu, Chief Public Relations Officer of NRC, said, “We remain committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient rail services.

Our additional trips are designed to ensure passengers have flexibility and comfort as they travel after the Sallah festivities.”

He further advised commuters to arrive early, comply with ticketing and security procedures, and plan their journeys to ensure a smooth travel experience.

The NRC management also thanked passengers for their continued patronage and wished everyone a safe and pleasant journey.
