Katsina United Football Club (FC) has announced that it has enrolled over 100 homegrown players, drawn from Team B and the Under-19 squad, into the state government’s salary scheme.
The club’s Chairman, Alhaji Surajo Malumfashi, revealed this to journalists in Katsina on Monday, following the completion of data registration for all players.
Malumfashi, who also serves as the club’s Supervising Coordinator, stated that each player would earn a monthly salary of no less than N50,000.
He further announced that the club had cleared a five-month salary backlog for all newly recruited players and formally placed them on the salary structure.
According to the chairman, all players, technical staff, and backroom personnel are now included in the state salary system and will receive their entitlements every month.
Malumfashi praised the state’s Commissioner for Sports, Alhaji Surajo Yazid-Abukur, for his commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of the club. He described the initiative as both commendable and motivational, noting that it is a historic first for football in the state.
The chairman also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the club’s progress and guiding the team to victories in both home and away matches.
