The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the dominant political party to beat at all levels ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The speaker made the remark on Tuesday in Lafia while hosting more than 20 stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Eggon extraction, who are preparing to defect to the APC.
He assured both existing and new members—particularly recent defectors—of equal rights, opportunities, and fair treatment within the party.
The Speaker expressed joy with the PDP stakeholders’ decision, which he described as timely and well-informed.
Jatau disclosed that he would inform the state governor and the party chairman of their move, after which they would be received officially.
He described the planned defection of the PDP stakeholders as “another big catch and victory” for the APC in the state.
Jatau called for loyalty, unity and teamwork among party members for a landslide victory in 2027.
He equally called on residents to continue to pray and support the administration of President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
Earlier, the team leader, Alhaji Abubakar Company, said they were relocating their tent due to the quality leadership of Governor Sule and the Speaker.
He added that they would add value to the party and ensure the party’s victory beyond 2027.
