There was chaos at the Federal Secretariat on Monday morning after a fire broke out in part of the building.
RBN reports that the blaze affected the Office of the Head of Civil Service within the Secretariat.
The incident also led to a diversion of traffic away from the Federal Court of Appeal area.
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has issued a response regarding the fire incident that occurred at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase II, Abuja on Monday.
The fire, which was detected in the early hours of Monday, impacted the 4th Floor of Block C, which houses the National Board for Technology Incubation.
A statement released by Mrs Eno Olotu, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, indicated that upon detection, the building’s emergency protocols were promptly activated.
Personnel from the Federal Fire Service, along with other relevant emergency response agencies, were reported to have quickly mobilized to the location.
“Their professional and timely intervention effectively contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to other areas of the building,” the statement noted.
