The Federal Government has officially handed over ownership of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium to the Kaduna State Government, marking a key milestone in the development of the region’s sports infrastructure.

The transfer, carried out by the National Sports Commission led by Mall. Shehu Dikko, included measures approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure the stadium remains a shared national asset.

The stadium is currently undergoing extensive renovation, which will expand its capacity from 16,000 to 32,000 seats, making it the second-largest stadium in Nigeria after the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

This also positions it as one of the country’s premier sporting venues.
