The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Alhaji Onsachi Musa Idris as Senior Special Assistant on Procurement.

Idris retired from the civil service on April 24, 2026, the same day his new appointment was announced.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media.

Before his retirement, Idris served as Director of Procurement at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), a role he assumed in July 2021.

The statement described him as a seasoned public servant with over three decades of experience spanning administration, finance, and public sector procurement management.

He previously held the position of Director of Common Services (Procurement) in August 2019 before being redeployed to head the FCT Procurement Department in 2021.

In that role, he oversaw procurement processes and ensured adherence to regulatory standards, contributing to improved efficiency and service delivery.
