Chelsea F.C. have parted ways with head coach Liam Rosenior following a string of disappointing results.
The club announced the decision on Wednesday, expressing appreciation for Rosenior and his backroom staff for their efforts during his time in charge.
“Liam has always conducted himself with the highest integrity and professionalism following his appointment midway through the season,” the club said in a statement.
Chelsea, however, noted that recent performances fell short of expectations.
“This has not been a decision the club has taken lightly. However, recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season,” the statement added.
The club wished Rosenior success in his future endeavours.
Assistant coach Calum McFarlane has been appointed interim head coach and will lead the team until the end of the season, supported by existing backroom staff.
Chelsea said the move is part of efforts to stabilise the team as they push for European qualification and continue their campaign in the FA Cup.
The club also disclosed that it will begin a process to appoint a permanent head coach, aimed at securing long-term stability.
