The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has revealed that several politicians are showing interest in joining the party ahead of upcoming elections.

Speaking during an interview, he said, “In the last three or four weeks, you will be amazed at how many people have reached out to us and said, ‘We’re coming over to your party.’” He added that the party remains open to new entrants, noting, “Our doors are open to anybody who wants to come in, either on their own or because the system has blocked and virtually destroyed their party.”

Baba-Ahmed emphasized that the PRP is preparing for a bigger political role in the coming months, stating, “We see our role in the next few months as far, far greater than anything we have done before.”

He also stressed that those joining are driven by values, not desperation: “They are not just coming as political refugees. They are coming because we are a party of principles.”

Highlighting the party’s legacy, he said, “We are about 70 years old. We have always stood on certain principles.”

He expressed optimism about the country’s direction, adding, “We know Nigerians are ready for real difference, real change in the way this country is run.”

He further disclosed that engagement with interested politicians has already begun, but with clear conditions: “They know our doors are open. They know they are welcome. But we ask them to join the party first before we start talking to them.”
