A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, after weeks in detention over alleged impersonation.
Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, had been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre since April 1, 2026, following charges linked to the alleged impersonation of social media commentator, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
The development was disclosed by activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, in a statement shared on his Facebook page.
According to Sowore, the court granted the defendant bail on self-recognisance after his arraignment.
“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as BLORD, on self-recognisance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” he said.
The court’s decision allows the entrepreneur to remain free pending the determination of the case, subject to compliance with the bail terms.
Blord’s arraignment followed allegations that he impersonated VeryDarkMan, a claim that has attracted attention on social media.
