Security operatives have rescued 12 kidnapped victims during a patrol operation in forest areas spanning Plateau and Taraba states.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on X on Thursday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the operation took place in the early hours of April 15, 2026, when troops on a fighting patrol encountered the victims in the Dajin Madam and Kumbodoro forests.
The victims were said to have escaped from their abductors and were searching for safety when they came across the soldiers.
“The victims said they fled from their abductors and were moving through the forest when they came across the troops,” the post noted.
They have since been taken into custody for proper identification and necessary procedures, while efforts continue to track down the kidnappers and prevent further attacks in the region.
