A former Director of the Department of State Services, Mike Ejiofor, has been re-elected President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Security Studies.
The development was announced in a statement by the association’s Publicity Secretary, Peter Iliya, following its 2026 Annual General Meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.
Ejiofor and other executives were returned to office during the meeting, which was preceded by the association’s second annual lecture titled “Credible Elections and National Security in Nigeria.”
The lecture featured contributions from notable speakers, including Mike Igini, Okey Ikechukwu, Oluwafunmilayo Para-Mallam, Jibrin Ibrahim and Samson Itodo.
Participants at the event stressed the importance of credible elections to national stability, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Credible, free and fair elections remain critical to strengthening national security in Nigeria,” participants noted, calling for stronger collaboration among stakeholders.
In his remarks, Ejiofor thanked members for renewing his mandate and pledged continued service.
“I am grateful for the trust placed in me, and I remain committed to advancing the objectives of the association with renewed dedication,” he said.
He also reaffirmed the association’s role in promoting policy dialogue and professional engagement on security issues in the country.
